  • Clutch hydraulics

So, I finally get my conversion done and it's time to bleed the slave - wtf - no nipple!?! So, I figure they just designed it to where you drop the slave down and push the bubbles back up into the master. Sure enough that seems to work. Problem is, every time the spring pushes the piston back out, I hear bubbles getting sucked in at the slave and pumping further reveals even more bubbles. So, is there some restriction in the upper hydraulics causing this thing to suck air around the seal on the piston of the slave or is my slave shot? Also I notice in the pictures of the new ones that there are two nylon straps that keep it from overextending mine are gone, are those cut when the slave is installed or should they still be there?

You might need to hold the slave in longer to give the air time to evacuate the master. Also, those clips are only there to keep it together when new and make install easier. They are not needed.

Not sure what car or setup your using but in *some* instants the slave is not supposed to be bled. On my old 93 saturn the master & slave were replaced as a unit and came pre-filled and was advised to not attempt to bleed.
I doubt it but I hope this helps.
Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance
