  • Pgm-fi main relay

Does anyone know what can happen if a mpg-fi main relay goes bad?

Your Honda fails to start . . . . . or dies intermittantly, as you're crossing the intersection, and there's a dump truck coming at you, and Lady Gaga is playing on the radio, and you have just received a text newsflash about faulty main relays in Honda's. LOL

Sorry, couldn't help myself, please excuse. What exactly are your symptoms? Oh, and what model as well, please?

If you ain't rock and roll, you must be driving a Honda

        LMFAO!!!!
its a fuel cut off in the event of a collision or rollover. by faulty its means that if you roll over your motor wont shut off, your motor will still run, and you will die, hollywood explosion style

Wouldn't that be an inertia switch in Fords? PGM-FI is usually what Honda names their EFI systems. A bad relay would make me think a no start condition (ECM not turning injectors on or fuel pump not priming/kicking in and injectors are opening but don't have anything to supply).

Haha, your right pocket, i had them confused. It IS the control for the EFI, its basically a ignition turn on, if that doesnt work then the car wont get fuel.
lol at myself i should just delete that post i made.

Not really a Honda fan but a few friends have them. Usually a good smack or two to the bottom of the dash by the relay while cranking will get it to start.
