  • Spark Plug Rec 1983 2.8 HO Z (LH7)

I am looking for spark plug recommendations for an '83 2.8 HO Z (LH7) in a Pontiac STE. The car is stock. Platinum or Regular? Brands? I see some decent deals on Champion Plats and Regs.

i think youll be ok with the standard ol spark plug, i know they recommend platium plugs for waste spark ignitions but im guessing you have a distributor. Dont get sucked into the quadtruple 3000 plugs b/s

Stock Delco's are the ticket. AC Delco rapid fire plugs work well to. If you have a higher output coil you can gap them to .045 or buy 93 to 95 3.4L Camaro plugs and they should already be gapped to .045.
      1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma
      1990 4Door, 3.2L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. 4X4. Trooper

Is there a way to tell if I have the high output coil by looking at it? It is still the original OEM coil, so I don't know the type of coil this motor came with.

Its the standard coil then. A high output coil would be something like an MSD, Pertronix or Mallory coil
