  • Coolant drain pet****

    I have a 2004 olds alero 3400 v-6 i was just geting ready to do a coolant flush and was wondering how to get it open i turned it about 1/4 of a turn it moved and stoped didnt want to break it i stopped no fluid came out do i just need to turn it alittle more? And also wondering were the block drain plugs are located any help would be awesome thanks

    Once you have the quarter turn, you have to pull it out some then it will turn a little more and pull out a bit farther to open the drain. No block drains that I am aware of, so sorry.

      There's an accessable drain plug on each side of the block. One's right next to the the crank position sensor and the other's next to the oil-filter mount. I think both require an allen-key wrench.

      Edit: Just looked at a drainplug on my block. It was a 14mm hex headed plug. So it could be either.

        Thanks for the help guys thats what i kinda was looking for allen key in the block i will go cheak those spots and finess the plug out u guys rock

          Just went looked again coudnt find hex head screw but a bolt next to the oil filter about 3 inches to the right of the oil pressure sensor is that one i might have to jack the car up for the other side wanted to do a flush with thermostate out and then drain the block repeate a copple of times anyone have a pic of location of plugs
