New cylinder head torque specs

The February 2010 issue of "Engine Builder" magazine states there are updated 3.1 and 3.4 cylinder head torque specs.

those are the specs i've been using...

That's tighter than I recall. I remember it being 33 lbs-ft plus 90 degrees and the tightening order being a spiral pattern.

Edit: My bad. L82 is 33 lbs-ft plus 90, LG8/LA1 is 44 lbs-ft plus 95.

My GM service manual and the Haynes manual have the same/old specs.

Just double checked, 44+ 95 degrees is what i've been using for at least the last 5 yrs.

how old is your GM manual?

My GM manual says 6-25-94 on the 2nd page.

My Haynes manual says (c) 1996, 1997, 2000, 2004
