Hello all. This is my first post here. I found this site through V6Z24.com.
Anyhow, I have a long tale of woe & misery and I hop someone can point me in the right direction. I have a 1994 Cavalier RS automatic that I have been throwing parts at and I am now near the end of my rope.
The initial prooblem is a major power loss during hard acceleration. Sometimes when it shifts into 2nd, sometimes when it shifts into 3rd. It does this with either the TCC plugged in or unplugged. It just loses power like I turned the engine off and then will restart on its own or just die.
It has new ;
IAC with throttle body cleaning
MAP sensor
Pulgs and wires
CPS
Oxygen sensor
ICM and all coilpacks
I used a ECM out of a 93 3.1 cavvy and it did the same thing. This was from a junkyard for testin purposes befor I bought a new ECM.
Now I'm wondering if it's either the EGR or the VSS. I will pull and check the EGR today, clean out the pintles and so on. The VSS requires a scope set-up to check it and I don't have all that.
any opinions?
