So I've been driving around this 2002 Malibu 3.1 V6 and one day I got a check engine light. so I thought, alright, I'll check the codes like I did in the 89 camaro. BAD IDEA! terminals A and B didn't have anything in them, so no diagnostic mode. being the idiot that I can be I proceded to crossing pretty much any combination of terminal I could. I never found diagnostic mode, and immediately after and since, my guages haven't been working. The car drives normally, I bet I blew a fuse, but they all look fine. What can I do to get my guages back?

still damaged.... waiting on the cash for new a new fender/door.
i'll check what i can through alldata and edit this post.
EDIT: i'm going to guess that either the BCM could be causing this, or something got burnt out when you were trying to pull diagnostic codes. the pins in the connector are 2 grounds, +12Volts and then class 2 serial data.
i'm seeing fuses for the BCM in the left-hand instrument panel fuse block and the underhood fuse block. nothing in the right-side.
does anything light up in the dash? not even backlights?Last edited by robertisaar; 11-16-2009, 09:00 PM.
