  • 96 Ciera back on line (almost)

I have started 3 or 4 previous threads relating to a 96 Ciera 3100 my son and I were working on. We finished the work and started it up yesterday. Guess we were lucky (so far) since the experience we have together doesn't amount to much. Thanks to some intelligence, limited previous experience, the internet, service manuals, and the help received from response to posts here, it's running again. Thanks guys!

It started easily and once it smoothed out it ran nice and smooth. During a two mile road test it felt peppy and responsive. So far there is only one leak and it's preventing it being put on the road, is a crack in the neck of the upper radiator connection. We are trying to repair it with JB Weld; it's now curing. My son found a place on line with a price of $120 and a local salvage yard gave me a price of $75 for a radiator. No money left in the funds right now so hopefully the repair will allow for local travel until we come up with some more cash. Anyway, just wanted to let all that read, and especially those who helped us, how it's going. Thanks - Scotty
