  • distributor/timing issue...won't start

hey was goin some maintenance on my 88 s10 this weekend, it has a 2.8 TBI, and ran into some problems. I went to change the rotor and cap, and as i went to mark the caps position, i moved it a bit. I tried to set it back the amount it moved, but now i can not get the engine to turn over. I have tried adjusting it both ways, and no luck. The engine is cranking, i have fuel coming from the injectors, batt power is good, just wont start. Any ideas? The truck ran great until this happened. any help is appreciated

Did you make sure you got all the plugins plugged back into the distributor?

You cannot move the cap independent of the distributor body. It only fits in one position. As long as the distributor did not move everything will be fine as long as the plug wires went back on where they came from.
