I need to change the torque strut mount (lower engine mount) on my grand am. It looks like all I have to do is support the engine and pull two bolts out. Anyone have any experience with these? Thanks.

the only thing you should have to do to get then out and then back in is "rock" the motor back and forth, you should only need a 13mm or a 15mm i cant remember which size the grand am's have...you shouldnt have to support the engine, the trans mount and the upper motor mount should hold it up, the torque strut keeps the motor from hitting the firewall when you give her the juice...it doesnt support any weight...just keeps the motor still in the bay...sigpic

Check the bolts for the upper mount in the fender well. Mine were loose once and made that noise.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)
