  • 2.8L Intake Manifold Replacement

Blew mine out. Just wondered if there is anything that I need to know before I tear it down. Or is it pretty much just like a SBC tear down? Any querks or dangers in doing it.? Thanks in advance

Nothing special. Just like in a SBC in pretty much every aspect. Just be sure to remove all oil from the mating surfaces with Acetone since it is the strongest and cleanest solvent (read: won't leave residue.)

On my 305 SBC recently, I used a Brass Wheel attached to the air drill and went across aluminum intake manifold and iron-heads (I covered the drain holes, just in case).

Power washed the aluminum intake manifold, and used carb-cleaner for iron-heads.

Also, used a good shop vac too.

Never read up on what is proper...but it works for me...
