So, I went out to fix the pcv line after doing the plenum swap and I'm giving the car the once over when I get shot in the face by some kind of liquid. The car was running and I was looking at the accessory belt when it happened. It's definitely antifreeze and it looks like its dripping off the corner of the oil pan. I'll get pics in a minute. It certainly doesn't look like a lower intake leak. FWIW, I don't have the chocolate milk in my oil and from what I can tell the coolant looks good. Nothing I touched yesterday would cause this. I wonder why all of the sudden what ever it is just decided to leak.

I really can't tell where it's coming from. It seemed to have stopped though. All I was doing was letting the car idle. I think I'm going to go get some deathcool to add to the reservoir. I'll see if it's leaked anymore when I come back. It's hard to drive the car when you know something is probably wrong with it.Last edited by whitelightnin04MC; 08-19-2007, 01:03 PM.

Waterpump leak? Look under your hook at the fire blanket, does it look like some sort of liquid has been slung all across under there? Right above where the belt spins? Most of the time when the waterpump leaks, it will leak onto the belt and get thrown up onto the underside of the hood and it will dry onto the fire blanket.
EDIT - dang 2 people beat me to it.SpudFiles

Thanks all you guys. Problem is solved. Got a 23 dollar pump from autozone and about 40 minutes later, all is good. I couldn't seem to find the leak on the pump once we got it out. Not sure if I would be able to or not, but there was some play in the bearings. Maybe it was leaking out through the shaft.

Makes it hard to tell, I agree. My water pump went when I was at the track 50mi away, good thing for AAA. When it did, I couldn't for the life of me figure where it was comming from, and like all the other times I've had this happen, it was the pump.

In all my years of working on cars, heavy trucks, tractors, forklifts, backhoes, bobcats, buses, oil rigs, diesel generators, cranes, log skidders, crawlers, excavators, rollers, swathers, combines, frac pumps, telehandlers, and pickups... I've NEVER seen a weep hole facing up- they've ALL pointed either down or to the side. That's just wierd.
It's been several years since I replaced the water pump on the ol' Corsica... and I'll admit that I don't recall which way the weep hole pointed... but I think I would've remembered that. Probably nothing will come of it either way, though.
