    .....When I remove the heads, do I need to take the p/s pulley off to access the bolts underneath of it?

        you can pull the entire power steering pump off as one unit. The pulley should have 3 holes in it that you can get a socket on the bolts without removing the pulley, then make sure nothing is holding the pump down, and lift it right up and off.

        The pump has to come out to get the lower intake off, but it is RARE for me to remove my pulley. I just pull the pump out as one unit.

          Thanks for the help...

          ...The serpentine belt rubs on the motor plate so that would be a good oppurtunity to see if the bearings were bad in the pully (or pump?).

            yes. PS pump removal is very easy as they noted, but remember to get your belt off you need to remove the lower head to motor mount bracket since they decided to wrap it around that... Damn GM.
