I got a 336 code which saids crank sensor out of range or performance, can someone explain exactly what is meant by out of range or performance. thanks. also it won't start when its warmed up. also got a oil pressure sensor code ,does that have anything to do with the no start. had it hooked to a snap on scanner its got spark and fuel to the injector rail but the injectors doesn't work, when warned up, it will start and run when its cold like over night or if i wait 4 or 5 hours. the car is a 02 3100 malibu, checked the fuel pressure which is good . any ideas will help.

Had a Dodge Ram that acted just like yours and it had a bad CPS/CKS. Just going out on a limb there. Someone correct me if I am wrong (probably am) but Out of Range / Performance is simply saying the sensor has failed / is failing.
As for oil pressure causing non-starts, I highly doubt it. Crankshaft position sensor seems a better bet.
I am no mechanic, just speaking from past experience. Hope this helps somewhat.

The oil pressure switch can definately cause some wierd starting conditions, as the power to the fuel pump relay is in parallel with the oil pressure switch. See below:

Hmm... well, here is the oil pressure sender diagram, I guess:
There is only 1 oil pressure sensor, so I dunno know.
I do know that you can start the car without the fuel pump relay... Once oil pressure is sensed, it will put power to the pump. Its a delayed start compared to normal due to pressure requiring to be built up. Maybe someone else can chime in...-Brad-

Actually i changed the cs sensor behind the damper, still had the problem. I finally took it to a friend with a snap on scanner the good garage kind he couldn't find anything. he finally took the damper off and recleaned the sensor and the back of the damper installed everything and it works like normal even the tach works. figure that one out. I cleaned everything when i changed the sensor. thanks
