Pontiac3100, His 93 is 3.1MPFI motor which do not use a 24x sensor. The SFI motors are the ones that use the 24x for idle in addition to the 7x.

LOL 305, damn yeah bolt that SOB down and get a new plug wire for it. Sheesh gotta make sure everything is the way it is supposed to be before you start trying to diagnose things!

Ohhh you were referring to my car. The 24x sensor is for idle and low RPM stability. My car it's been the 7x CPS that it gets main spark for. It would get hot after driving then start back firing and cutting out and then shut off no spark at all. The 24x hasn't gone out yet and if it did I think it would still run just not idle as smooth.

I was gonna drop it off late last night to be fixed this morning, but i ran into family problems until 4am and i forgot. Tomorrow the bastard will be fixed

Drop it off? That's easy to fix do it yourself! Get some new plug wires and bolt the bracket back down. :P

I honstly dont wanna mess with it. Most anything else I'll do myself, but not this. It looks like a pain in the cock to get to. Plus my mechanic is gonna do it for 15-20$

hahahah that's a twist on an old saying. $15-20 isn't bad. Especially if that includes plug wires

lol yes, yes it is a twist to an old saying
But man it's still misfiring.. I think the plug to the cylinder that was dead has fouled. Now I have a v5 :*( It's gonna be expensive to pay my mechanic to do that probably. That's another job I refuse to do lol.

Spark plugs are easy man. Was that plug on the front or rear? Just wait till the car is cold (don't mess with spark plugs on hot engine, you can mess up the heads) and take it out. Get some anti-seize, swipe some on the new plug, and put it back in..... Might as well do all the spark plugs. Why would that be expensive? Just use the normal ac delco plain plugs.

On the rear bank of a 3.1?? Good story. Even mechanics dread having to do those LOL.

But I would probably use Champions.
Offtopic here, is there an alternate gap I could use for more performance?

Why not champions? I heard those are really good in our cars? Or do I remember wrong?

How do you do your rear bank on your 3100?

My 3100 is easy you unbolt the side mount wheel well bolts and the top inside bolt, then slide the motor forward, and re-tighten the top inside bolt and it holds the motor forward for you.

Use the AC Delco normal plugs. They are proven to work good and are cheap.
