  • Can I reuse fuel injector o-rings?

I'm installing some fuel injectors that have been removed from an engine for about 2 months. Can I reuse the o-rings or do I need to get new ones?

Just get new ones, they are cheap and install so much easier. The old ones are probably swollen.

I reuse them all the time, but always keep spares and check them after install by turning the car on to allow the system to pressurize, then checking for leaks.

I lube mine up with petroleum jelly each time they're reinserted, and it's usually (Not always) fine.

Is there a way to clean feul injectors? like once you have them out, instead of just dumping random crap in the gas tank?
