all this talk about sandwiches and milkshakes is making me hungry!
I haven't seen that oil cooler leak before, but I think it just uses a Delco oil filter gasket for the seal. Nothing special.Brian

I've had the trans cooler inside the radiator leak trans fluid into my coolant system. Check the recovery tank and see if you see any red oil floating there. New radiator fixed it. Also the lines that go to the radiator from the trans were seeping, and I took a pipe cutter, cut them off, and put on hydraulic lines with dual high pressure clamps (I think they were fuel hose clamps)sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

Thats cast aluminum for you. Is this the old corvette style adaptor that brings in coolant to the filter area?
You can completly delete it. You will not see overheated oil. The actual application of the design is to speed warm up time and stabalize the oil temperature. But if you get you car up to full temperature on the majority of your drives then the thing is useless.
If you really want a cooler then get a seperate cooler than mounts under the car or infront of the rad.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma
