For us that dont have acces to fancy tools, it takes a long time to do that with sandpaper and aluminum polish. I got my back one done, done by hand with sandpaper probably took 4-6 hours. Front, which isnt done will be longer since the whole thing isnt smooth already, like the rear.

The waterpump pulley doesn't make sense....that's steel yah? Also what do you mean by blasting the compound?

I polished just the face of my valve cover yesterday, 45 minute job

i sand blasted it then went to sanding compund ... 40 -200 grit you get it at caswells the wet sanded the rest til i got to 600 then went from black compound ,brown compound , white compund .... and the pulley was just there and look bad ... it was either polish it or powder coat it .... it only took 10 minutes to polish and a coat of wax

Id suggest powdercoating the polished parts clear to keep the finish looking new.
                            I modify stuff

i did my plenum and valve covers up to 2000 wetsand...

i didnt use a polishing wheel or compound. all elbowgrease and sandpaper... 80dry grit to 2000 wetsand. 40+ hours there.

i'd recomend that Zoops stuff, i want to get some to keep them clean and from having to polish the shit every 2 weeks... argh. [img]
