  • 95 3100 - Missing at low RPM's

Hey guys, how's it going? I've got a '95 Grand Am with the 3100, the car itself has 192K and the motor has 50K. A few weekends ago I noticed fuel leaking from one of the injectors, it appeared to have a cracked oring, but the car was running fine.

I proceded to pull the UIM, the fuel rail, and replace all 12 orings on the injectors. I was very careful putting everything back together, and seating the injectors into the LIM. I installed a new UIM gasket, put everything back together. Started the car up, and it runs terrible! When you first start the car, it starts ok (slightly rough), and idles down to normal. Put the car in gear, and it misses and coughs really bad like it might die. Give it some gas, and once you get past about 1500 RPM, it smooths out and drives ok (lacks some power) until the TCC locks up at around 50MPH, and it starts to miss again.

Here's what I've done to troubleshoot the problem: installed new plug wires, pressure regulator, PCV valve, and tested the MAP sensor and TPS sensor. I've also checked all vacuum lines also and am not getting an SES light. The plugs have around 10,000 miles on them.

Any suggestions? I'm pretty stuck right now, and I really hate to take it to a dealer! Let me know what you guys think

    Thanks

I'd say maybe the injector was bad and not the o-ring. Maybe it was cracked/etc and now that you've moved it it's totally dead...

I'd inspect them and possibly clean them, measure the ohms of them too and see if anything seems strange.
