I have a a misfire during low rpm if I am accelarating. Not detonation, just a miss. My plug wires need to be replaced since I cut through the shielding on a few of them and the plugs need to be checked. It also seems to do it in the same exact place every time I accelarate. Could this be a dead spot in my TPS?

Yeah if you know your wires are bad that's the first thing to do then see if you still have a problem. 99% garuenteed it's that. Bad wires will cause miss fires. Fix all your known problems before trying to diagnoise other ones.

If you can't wait till dark you can also take a spray bottle with some water in it and spray a mist over the engine. You know, the 4th is coming up, gotta celebrate!N-body enthusiast:

problem fixed...
It was the wires shorting to ground I'm sure.
Installed new rotors and pads today. Cost me 80.00 plus a few other items.
Question:
Does anyone know off hand the metric # for the bolt that holds the lower engine mounts? There are two bolts. I'm missing the one that goes on the upper part next to the crank pulley. I'm guessing M8 or something close.

they're bigger than an M8, I want to say M10 but I'm not sure. I know they're a high strength grade.Brian
