  • project, a few questions

well for the past few weeks i have been polishing up a 3400 plenum, LIM, t-stat housing, valve covers, exhaust heat Shields and coil pack bracket.

now my question comes here. that damn coolant line that runs from the LIM to the heater core(this is on a w-body, i don't know if it's diff on any other 3x00 vehicles). that little disconnect, how do you get that thing out? i wrestled with the thing for about a hours and all i ended up doing was breaking the little clips. does it need a disconnect thing like the fuel lines? the whole time i have owned the car i have never been able to get it out. PLEASE HELP

also i was playing around with a bunch of old hardware i have lying around and i found out that the exhaust studs can be used to hold the plenum to the LIM. anyone think i should do this? i think it would look pretty cool, is there any reason not too? cause the way i figure studs>bolts, has anyone else done this before?
