    Can the heads on the rwd 2.8 3.1 and 3.4 engines to on either side or do they have to be on a particular side?

    Take a look at any V engine (excluding some DOHC motors) every head is cast the same. Saves money and you never have to worry about L or R

      Heads interchangable?

      Does this mean that 2.8L cast-iron heads can be used on the 3.4L RWD motors?

      Can a distributor be used with the 3.4L motors?

      Thanks.

        RE: Heads interchangable?

        yes and yes, however you cant use the 3.4l rwd sfi intake, as it would interfere with the distributor.

          Thanks and Re-cap

          Thanks for the help. Here's the summary of my plan:
          1. Use 3.4L rwd motor;
          2. Use 2.8L heads, intake, and distributor;
          3. Use appropriate carburetor (don't yet know what that will be - probably OEM.)

          I'm going to install the engine and 5-speed manual transmission into an MGB. It seems to produce a powerful, well-balanced car.

          Thanks again.
