Hey yall, does anyone know what size the freeze plugs for a 3.1 are? I have 6 35mm ones that appear to be right, but they are not hammering in. Thanks.
Tavis
what kind of car you got? im in a position right now where i might have to replace my freeze plugs but i know ABSOLUTLY nothing about them . Dont know where they are, how many i need, what size...i know nothing. I have a L82 3100 in a 95 Grand Am GT. Any help you could give me on these would be more than greatly appriciated. Thanks ALOT!!!
Freeze plugs are on the side of the block. If you are leaking from one of the rear ones, good luck. I'm not sure if they would even be able to be replaced without pulling the engine. But I've never installed them, so I'm not 100% sure.
And as far as this guy helping you out... This post was from 3 1/2 yrs ago, and he posted 31 times. I doubt he is even around anymore.
There is a pic of where the freeze plugs would be located on the block. (The silver disc/cup looking things). This is a 90V6, but the idea is the same...
