  • A few scattered trhings before I begin

I am gettin my 3100 top end for my MPFI 3.1.. I have a few queries.. Like, someone told me to get the "cable box" for the trottle from a Quad 4.. Do I need this, or will my existing setup work? Also, I need a tb.. I want top get one from a 3400 as its bigger but I want to make certain that it will work before I get it as the only I can get it around here is from GM.. This thing basically is from a 94 prix.. So its the 93-7 style heads and stuff.. I need an upper intake plenum, tb, bolts/fasteners, and the gaskets.. Now, is this something I can get done in a day if I start at say 8:30 or 9 and have done by 7 or 8? Or Im thinkin of building it up on a second block since I dont have my "Winter Barge" yet.. Someone suggested a 2.8 crank.. Rev happiness makes me happy.. So, yea.. I need a few of these things answered, as I cant get ANY ofd the links to the various guides to work.. I think my Net browsers are busted.. Thanks guys!

Yes you can use a 3400 TB. Use a throttle cable bracket from a 3X00 Car (any car) and then use beretta throttle cable but I bet yours will work fine. I doubt you will do it in a day. If you really know your way around your car you could but If this is your first time then plan a full weekend. Screw the 2.8L crank. Loosing displacement is not a cool thing. Your crank is in no way limiting your RPM's. Your Cam is.
