  • Injectors

I've done the searches and came up with nothing useful so far.
Anyways, I'm not new to the 60 degree v6 as I've owned 2 of them the latest being a 2000 Olds Alero with the 3.4L.
My friend just recently purchased a 89 Grand Prix with the 2.8L in it. The number 1 and number 2 injectors went out on it at the same time. My questions are. Will injectors from a 95 Cutless 3.1L fit into it? Will the wiring be the same? Are the fuel rails interchangeable? What are the downsides to doing this?
Thanks for all the help in advance.

The fuel rails between the 2.8 and the 3100 in the Cutlass are a lot different. The 2.8 is the gen II 60* and the 3100 is the gen III, completely different engines just based on the same design. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the injectors in the Cutlass are larger as well. The 2.8L IIRC takes 15lb/hr injectors...could be wrong though. But the fuel rails are definately different. If the injectors are the same size they will work because they plug in the same, but I'm doubting they are the same size.

if the cutlass motor is a 3100 then no the injector cannot be used on a 2.8
the computer of a 2.8/3.1 will not run the injectors of a 3100/3400
