  • 3.6 vvt pistons in a 3500

i am curious if anyone knows the compression height of the 3.6 piston.

bore between the 3500 and 3.6 are the same, and so are rod length. however, the 3.6 has a slightly longer stroke of 3.37 vs 3.31 of the 3500 according to the gm spec sheet.

all things being equal the 3.6 piston would sit higher in the bore unless the compression height was changed.

i think people here can figure out why. search didnt turn up the compression height.

I had the numbers from Ben years ago, turned out to be about 14:1 scr with the 3500 rods IIRC.

I'll post up the height when i get home if nobody else does first. It will be a few days though.

Is the info in the CR calc? I bought a piston specifically to figure it all out when the engine first came out, so the info should be out there somewhere.
