Hey guys. Im new here and have a few questions. I own a 2003 Buick Century with the 3100. I will be keeping this car into the dirt because basically i hacked out the rear seats to fit a subwoofer install, so resale value would be very low. So i decided, when the engine goes, to build a sleeper. Now from my researching, the 3400 and 3500 should fit right in, correct? My question is, is there difference between the lx9/lz4/lze and the Lz9. It would be smart to put the highest rated HP engine possible. So would the Lz9 bolt into my car easy? If so, what would i need to make it possible? Any Help is appreciated. Oh and if this was already posted, sorry. I tried the search function and couldn't find what i was looking for. Thanks Again

Welcome to the site !!!
An LX9 (3500) swap would work for you the others are VVT and a lot harder to overcome
The lx9 comes with a forged bottom end and 200 hp out of the box
A swap kit can be used for the swap and the 3100 PCM will get you in the ball park to get it running A tuned PCM would help a lot Along with a cam and headers ,ported intakes
Also a trans out of a grand am GT would help You have 3.05 0r 2.93 gearing more than likely And lower 3.29 with the tune combined with the other mods would really wake up the whole experience
