  • Seondary Air Injection System

Good Morning. Been hanging around a long time, first post. I recently re-engined a 2000 Venture with an engine from a 1999 Venture. Everything works after some messing about, except the '99 engine doesn't have the ports on the heads to connect the A.I.R hoses. So the computer lights up the SES light. Always P0410. How do i fool the ECM into ignoring the "missing" A.I.R. system? Thanks for your ideas in advance.

You would have to have someone re-program it for you to eliminate that code.

Re-program the ECM? Where does one go to have this sort of thing done? Most places i've asked about re-programming just stare at me as though i'm speaking another language. Would it be possible instead to use the ECM from the 1999 chassis that the engine came from? There seem to have been some significant changes in the electricals from the 1999 to the 2000. Any one have any idea what else might be affected by using the '99 ECM on the '00 chassis?

Where are you located? There might be a member close to you on here that has either HPT or DHP that can reprogram it for you.

99 to 00, no you can't just swap the ECU, they are completely different exterior wise and who knows what else changed with the harness. But yes ask around see if a member is local enough to re-flash using HPTuners or a Digital HP tuner.

I'd do it but Texas (assuming by name) isn't that close by...

Sorry, i forgot a location. Fixed that. The "TexMedium" is from an old WW2 history joke. So, re-programming is something i could do myself, with the proper software? That interests me maybe, i really did not want to change the ECM, as the early results on the fuel economy numbers are very promising. I will do some more reading here. Lots of useful stuff.
