4mm oil ring? Stock Mahle Pistons?

2002 Grand am, 3.4

Doing a quick re-ring for a friend's ponch.

Found Mahle pistons. According to sealed power the stock oil ring should be 4 mm. according to Mitchell it should be 2.96 mm. E-918K is 4mm oil ring and is too big. None of the auto zone, o'reilly's, parts pro, cpw catalogs list the E-928K that is the correct ring. Anyone else run into this?

From what I hear the Mahle piston is a stock piston?

Please clarify.

Its really weird... I ran into this with Roberts 01 3400 engine... the stock ring size was 3mm but they sent me 4mm oil rings, the replacement pistons have 4mm rings cut in them.

But I know there was one application that had a 3mm sealed power set. I'm trying to find it on RA.

equinox has 3mm.

Never mind, DNJ is the only one I can find, and was the one someone told me to order, it was listed for a 06 equinox, but I found it on the 99 GA as well. They are much cheaper than Sealed Power and I'm not sure why really.

My engine is a 2003.And the harness was 2000 gagt.Not that it really matters=)
