forgot more details, temp can be at the right temp or below then shoots up to 240 usual when just coasting or off the gas but now and then when accelerating it will drop like a rock and sit at a cooler temp. Top hose is always hot bottom is warm or hot never ice cold. I also lost my heating but its been coming back on and off after a few flushes but then it goes away i cant seem to get all the air out of the system with the bleeder i dont get a sold stream,

It sounds like coolant is flowing for the most part with the rad hoses heating up.
Some possibilities:
1) The new thermostat might be having trouble opening fully.
2) The engine is running normally but the temp sensor or it's wiring is causing false readings.
3) Waterpump impeller is loose on it's shaft and intermittantly working.
4) If your car has it, the hose from the top of the rad to the coolant overflow tank could be clogged and not allowing air to bleed out.1995 Grand Am SE

well i just ran the car with the cap off and kept getting bubbles it actualy took a whole thing of coolent i dont see any leaks what so ever underneath. The one thing thats bothering me is after i did this i ran the car for maybe a total of 45 min and it was running better heat came back then after driving it for a bit just builds up air from somewhere by the outlet for the heater core i replaced the whole part its just a bit nut with a quick connect it keeps steaming out from there i already took it apart checked it once before put a new o ring idk if they'r is something else missing it all came in one piece so im pritty sure its all there but it just keeps building up air there i open the bleeder and its just air rushing out

The bubbles are combustion gasses leaking past the head gasket. You are probably dripping water out the tail pipe.
Something went wrong with the head gasket install. Did you torque them down properly? 44 ft/lbs and then a 90 degree twist. Followed the proper pattern? Did you use the two inserts keeping the heads aligned to the block?1996 Grand Prix | 3100v6 L82 | T04E-50 Turbo | Getrag 282 w/ EP LSD | SPEC-3 Clutch

Well, the options are ...
Warped or cracked Head(s)
Warped or cracked block (unlikely but possible)
Faulty head gasket
Improper installation
It can be fixed, just have to tear back into it again to find the problem. You might need to have the heads decked smooth.
Not sure but a severe LIM leak could introduce water into the combustion through the PVC valve. But your oil would be watered down drastically.1996 Grand Prix | 3100v6 L82 | T04E-50 Turbo | Getrag 282 w/ EP LSD | SPEC-3 Clutch
