  • TCE External Crank Trigger

Installed this kit on my "3500" swap in my Fiero this afternoon and the gap seems pretty far off. I read somewhere that the gap was supposed to be 0.050 +/- 0.020 but no units. How do I know if the gap is correct. It doesn't seem like there is much room for adjustment.

Also installing the sensor into the aluminum piece, it doesn't sit flush. The part that bolts down is bent in at the end to sit in a groove in the block. This increases the gap, is it supposed to be like this?

Finally it was sent with 4 washers, where do these go? I didn't see any install instructions on the TCE website. It does seem pretty self explanatory but I want to make sure it's correct.

I used a feeler gauge on mine, it's right about .040". I had to file a little off the sensor to make it sit flush in the mounting block but it's been fine for 4 or 5 years now.

The washers are to shim the whole assembly so that the metal "button" on the sensor lines up with the trigger wheel. Some applications need that and some don't.

I had to do the same thing, there was a tab sticking out on the sensor, had to file it down flat
