2001 Impala with 3400 question

Hey guys, hope everyone had a great holiday season. I am looking at a 01 Impala. It has 187 000 km's or 116 000 miles on the 3400. Apparently the head "seals" as he called it was done at the time this owner bought the car 5 years ago. Dont know yet if it has deathcool in it. My oldsmobile is slowly dying and as i am starting college in three days I am not going to be able to tackle any motor swaps.

The point: Any comments on the car/drive train? I hear these 3400's are notoriously high maintenance. Should I make the switch....hmmm These damn gaskets have me worried...need a *^#@ing shop!
