Im trying to remove my cam but it pulls out about half an inch and block at about half a turn...can't get it to pulls out more...any ideas...oh yes I removed the lifters before someone answer me this

other than removing the oil drive gear, just be careful when pulling it out you dont want to trash the cam bearings.sigpic

Did you remove this thing?
Drivers side of the car between the engine and transmission under the exhaust crossover. If you didn't remove this (which is the oil pump drive), then that is probably what is holding it in.Taylor

more like why didn't you think about posting a picture of it just in case MitchPower is a beginner with the 60 degree engines, and does not know what the "oil drive plug" is.
Or more like why didn't you tell him where the "oil drive plug" is located in case he is a beginner to the 60 degree engines?
I know I am stating the obvious, but if it was something so obvious, then why is he asking for assistance?Taylor

Welcome to the 60* community though Mitch . But that should be what your problem is.You may or may not know 10 times what i do.
