        I say screw it.. drop it in and make it work.

        with a nice custom ground cam and some small upgrades that thing would make some excellent power.

          Not that bad for a crank. I just shipped an LX9 crank to Canada from Florida and shipping was $62.

              And the non 3500 is what? 205 and just cracked off a 14.48 today @ 95 in Eric's 92 Beretta witht the 3 speed even!

              I say make it work with a good cam and do some clean up work porting on the heads and i/e manifolds and shoot for 250.

              14.60 @ 96.33 for now...

                LX9 non-vvt is 200 flat.

                Does anyone know what they did to the 2007 VVT 3500 to get 224hp up from 211hp?

                  Doesn't this engine also have DoD, witch would mean messing with the weird solenoid actuated lifters?

                    Not sure, the Impala ones had DoD, but I'm not sure if the early ones did or not. I've heard as long as it's not activated the DoD won't function.
