  • Flywheel Question

    Hey guys,
is there any difference in the flywheel end of the crankshaft between the 3.1 and 3.4? Bolt pattern, flange thickness, etc.?
And the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same as well correct?

I have someone making an adapter for me to mate the 3.4 to a VW transmission and all he has to go by is a 3.1.

This question is worth a couple hundred dollars!

When you say 3.4 and 3.1, which engines are you specifically talking about? I don't think it should matter, though, as I am pretty sure they are all the same. But the RWD and FWD engines may have some differences.

The bellhousing bolt pattern IS the same across all of the 60V6 engines though.

The 3.4 is RWD (Camaro), but the 3.1 I'm not sure about.
      Thanks.

They're all the same, you just need to be aware of the need for neutral balance vs. internal balance cranks. All cranks with 7x reluctor notches should be neutral.
