3.1 Injectors in a 96 3100

anyone know if the 3.1 injectors will work in the 3100 in a 96 Grand Prix? I am having a sputter issue and to me its leaning toward injectors. thanks

Yes, they will work. Pretty much all injectors from GM engines are interchangeable (given the same flow rate) up until they came out with the Multec II's, which are a lower impedance.

It will not run right. The spray pattern is different.

I tried using 3100 injectors in my 3.1 and it ran like crap.

This is just a guess from what I've been told about the different injectors, but I would imagine that it would run, but would run lean. If thats the case then a computer tune would fix that but for the money you'd spend to get your computer tuned you could probably get some used 3100 injectors. You could also send the injectors away to have them cleaned and tested.

3.1 injectors are lower flow rate that 3100 ones. If you need a set I have a few lying around.
