my Radiator fan in my 91 beretta wont turn on when the motor gets hot. all the wires are concted and I dont know what else to do. what tells the fan to turn on and whare is it located at on the car

There is a relay (mine was white/grey) up by the firewall. I believe it's close to the passenger side in a group of 3 of them or so. At least that's how it is on 94. I hit mine with a screw driver a few times and the fan turned on. I took out the relay and you could see inside where it connects the plastic had got hot.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

possible answer to problem?
theres a sensor that sends temp to computer to turn electric fan on and off its a coolant/ water temp sensor it generally always located on intake manifold and usually near the thermostat housing which is "housing" the thermostat which the housing cover has a huge hose going from radiator to the intake somewhere

Does your air conditioner work? I'm pretty sure all the cars I've owned with electric fans run the fan when your AC compressor engages no matter what the CTS reads. If the electric fan runs with the AC compressor engaged then it's probably the senor. Also, if you don't have AC, when I forgot to plug my coolant temp sensor back in on my 92 GP the fan always ran, regardless of the temp but then you'll have a check engine light. Do you have a dashboard temp guage? If so, how hot goes it get?
