  • Where to buy engine parts??

    Hi all,

I am new here, but not to the 60V6 (I was a technician at 3 different oldsmobile dealers between 1993-199.

Now i am driving a 96 Monte Carlos with a 3100. It has a noticeable tick in the morning. I have to replace the lower intake gasket, and i was thinking, why not replace the lifters while i am in there.

My question, what are some good sources for internal engine parts like rocker arms, push rods and lifters?

I searched online and didnt come up with too much and I definitly dont want to go to the dealer.

    Any assistance is appreciated!!

    Thanks
    Ian

gmpartsdirect.com. They sell all the OEM stuff

I doubt the lifters are your noise. It is more likely piston slap since you described it happening in the cold mornings. Does it go away once warm?

Buy the new Felpro problem solver gaskets when you do the gaskets.

Yes, it completley goes away after it warms up. I was searching through the postings and it seems like piston slap is not an uncommon problem. I guess I can live with that.

      Thanks for the heads up!
