  • 2.8 / 3.4 flywheels, are they identical?

    Can I use a flywheel for a 2.8 on a 3.4? (95 Camaro)

As long as it is a neutral balance flywheel. If it has a counterweight on the backside, it won't work unless you have the counterweight machined off, and the flywheel re-balanced.

It also must be a Camaro flywheel. S10's used different flywheels for the same tranny. Why? I dont know.

But a quick comparison will tell you if it is the right one.

i have one from a 3.4L camaro if you need one.. free if you pay for shipping, its at my 'rent's place tho, so it will be a couple weeks before i can get it in the mail (2 hours away, im at away at school right now and dont have any reason to go home yet), no idea on milage, and honestly i have no idea if it needs turning, i just took it off a spare motor and tossed it aside (im an automatic guy)

          just thought i would offer
          3.4L camaro some goodies

Thanks guys, the reason I ask is because they have an aluminum flywheel for my 2.8 Fiero, but not the for the 3.4 Camaro. ( www.speclutches.com ) Im putting in the 3.4 block and using everything else off of the 2.8 to make it look stock, just wonderin if I could use thier aluminum flywheel for the 2.8.
