  • quick getrag 284 q/a

i am a complete newb to manual trannies btw.

when i seperated my getrag from the engine i noticed the throwout bearing was attached to the pressure plate. other peeps are telling me when i install the new one and put it together that the throwout bearing goes on the tranny after the fork.

but just by looking at mine it appears it attaches to the pressure plate which i think would make installation easier too.

what's the verdict o this??? plz reply ASAP so i can get all this stuff back in my car.

Yes, the throw out bearing is installed on the fork in the tranny. When you put the engine and tranny together, you pull back on the fork where the slave cyl. pushes, locking the throwout bearing into the pressure plate.
