Tranny Help

I have a 2001 Chevy Venture it has a 3400 with a 4T65-E it was acting kind of funny then all of a sudden it would only drive in Neutral.I thought this was weird i checked the prindle switch and its moving when i engage the shift lever but the computer could be confused on which gear it is actually in,i heard sometimes if there is a confusion problem the tranny will default back to a safe setting.Just not sure how it can drive in neurtral?

It seems to be stuck in 2nd to its got no guts at start but doesn,t rev high at 40 either,i'll stick the snap on scan tool to it.
