has anyone rebuilt the 284?

i'm rebuilding my getrag well just puttin in new synchro in to it, i was woundering if anyone else has done this before? i almost have it completely apart, my trany guy says he probly can find synchro's from another trany that will work, i'll update on my progess

There are a few people that have done something with the trannies aside from the GM core exchange program. If your trans can rebuild it awesome! How much is he charging you? If possible take pics of it apart!

Well heres the update, i found out today you can;t get anything besides the seals for the 284, and only thing my trany needed was a set of synchros, which i still might try machineing my self when i get some spare time,
