yeah, they sound shakey to me, theres only a couple places I would trust with GM FWD transmissions, thats Certified or Dynotech. They are the only 2 places in the country I have seen that really know thier stuff and also pretty much spealize in GM transmissions.

Im running a 3250 stall converter myself, its a little wierd for the street, I need to play with the lockup and modulation settings in the PCM some to make it a bit more friendly. However when your at the line and can powerbrake to 3500rpm before letting go the power you get is awesome.

i only know one person that knows his gm trannies and hes partners at my dad's shop. hes probably going to do tim's 65. you dont want the convertor back in; you should have one rebuilt or get a new one unless it has low mileage. sonax parts will last longer, but at least get gm parts. if they want to put used parts in (hard parts that is) you might be okay, but your safer with new stuff.

Just a little FYI on the tranny coolers, most 4t60e's have thermal controls in them so if you put the trans cooler after the radiator you will mess up these controls and the tranny will never reach "operating temp" if your worried about the radiator being gummed up with crap get it flushed, thats an easy job to do.

Mine is inline too but pre radiator, the fluid passes throught the radiator last to get it up to temp and keep it there, but the cooler provides the cooling it wont get from the radiator.

just put it inline with the one in the radiator and youll be fine. yeah, make sure they blow out the cooler lines.

The radiator won't heat it up the tranny fluid very well when it's 0 degrees outside. I have mine after the radiator and haven't had any problems. My tranny guy says the cooler the better to a point.

I have always heard the cooler the better too for the 4T60-E's or any tranny.

I never said I was worried about it being gummed up. I was just worried about the heat ruining it faster and if I add a secondary radiator it would keep it cooler. I have heard that the 4T60-E's are not good tranny's to begin with and when they get hot it wears them out faster.

Well, the older 4T60 in a 93 Ciera 3.3L had 174K on it. 1st to 2nd was slipping, but the owner never did a flush or filter, let alone a cooler. I have been told and do believe the 4T60/E are very good trannys. Even thinking about putting one in my 94 Z24.
