Synromesh??

I'm getting ready to put my getrag 284 into my TGP and I have a couple questions on what type of oil to use. I've heard that GM Syncromesh is the best stuff to use, and how many quarts does a dry 284 take??

GM syncrhomesh is the stuff you want. My manual calls for 2 quarts, but it always takes a bit over 2 quarts to get it to Full on the dipstick.
