does any1 know if there any major differences in the tranny from a 94-95 to a 96-97 other than a lack of a vacuum modulator. right now i have a 96 engine with a 94 tranny and the 94 ecm/wiring but am thinking of going to obd2 and was wondering if i can just plug it into the 94 tranny and it would work?

RE: tranny differences????
you are actualy talking about to different transmissions. the one with a vacume mod is a 4t60e and the one without it is a 4t65e. they are simular, but the valve body and controll system is completly different. you would be able to use a 96 wiring harness, but make sure you get it from a vehicle that has a 4t60e.

RE: tranny differences????
im going to guess he is dealing with a tdc motor. i have no clue as to what tranny it would use. in the early years, they got the 4t60 and then the 4t60e. mabey the later years of the tdc got the 4t65e. ill have to look it up at work tomorow.

RE: tranny differences????
I'm pretty sure the DOHC never got hooked up to the 65E, always the 60/60E.-Brad-

the 97 DOHC Monte Z34's were mated to an odd ball 4t65 tranny. many of the items in the tranny is the same as 98+ 4t65's but there are a few subtial differences that wont allow some of the upgraded parts from Intense or ZZP to work with the 97 4t65's that came on the DOHC Z's.
ask Oleshifty from mymonte about it, or 97MonteZ34, they both have them.
