  • park nutral switch

    i went to the tranny shop and asked him why does my car go crazy in over drive so i scanned my car and i got a po705 code a malfunction he said the this was a park nutral switch is he right and if do do i need the switch or the hole harness

        yes i beleive that is the neutral swtch code (its also known as an mlps- manual lever position sensor). it is common to have it go bad. they arent that expensive and not to hard to change. you will only need to change the switch.

            its commen for the wiring to go bad as well.. the wiring likes to pull apart at the connector.. also make sure it's aligned properly... you have to do this in nutural.. there are markings on the MLPS that have to line up..

              i made sure that everything was aligned and put it back in.could it be the the tcc solinoide. the park nutralswitch thati bought was for a 95z34 because the 94 was a split year and it had a removable connector.

                You should have the car hooked up to a scan tool, have them check to make sure the computer is readin the mlps properly..

                    scan tool reads the computer and gives you a real time read out of whats the sensor readings are.. Any good shop should have one.. This way you can check to make sure when you put the car in over drive, the computer should show that the car is in over drive.. you should run it through all the gears to make sure its all reading correctly..
