  • fiero parts compatability

i know the fiero is a rwd car, wth a fwd type setup. and is stuck inbetween that with post 87 iron heads and such. but can i use a fiero flywheel in my fwd car? im not sure what kind of voodoo gm did here, everyone has there cars that raise an eybrow. i wan to get an aluminum fly from the fiero store, expensive i know, but since its one of the not-so-many aftermarket things out there, i can justify wasting my taxes on it. that and i dont feel like peeling the motor tranny apart later to put one in.

    RE: fiero parts compatability

what year is the motor you are putting into your car??? all 87 and prior 60 degree motors were externaly balanced, and 88+ were internaly balanced. now im not sure about an 88 fiero flywheel, it could be either way. the fiero was the last fwd design ironhead, so i dont know if gm changed it to internal balanced for the 1 year, or not.

but yea, if the 88 fiero motor is internaly balanced, then yes, that flywheel will work on anything 88+.

they sell a neutral balanced flywheel for 3.1 stroker kits. i just want to make sure this flywheel has the right number of teeth, diameter, etc
