  • 02 GA 4T45E Transmission Issues

Well I think the transmission might have kicked it. A few weeks back the transmission started having issues. When shifting from 3rd to 4th the RPMS would climb to like 2500 RPM before shifting gears. I would have to back off acceleration and get back into it for it to shift ok. Also at one point I lost 1st and reverse for a few hours but they ended up coming back. Yesterday I lost reverse completely. The transmission will lock when I put in reverse but do nothing. Also 1st through drive work but they feel a little stuck when trying to use them. Has anyone had issues like this before?

I did. It was 6 quarts to high. When I pulled the plug it just started putting out of the transmission. Now the torque converter is rattling after doing that. I got my first and reverse to release.

Yeah. I must of overfilled it when I did a filter and oil change a few weeks back. I filled a 5 quart jug and lost another quart on the floor.
