  • equinox transmission?

Just wondering what 3.4L is in the equinox? And if its the 3400 could the awd transmission be used in a 3x00 Beretta if the right mods for the rear end were done?

its a 3400 with a different upper intake manifold, a 4t65e with a versatrack PTO comming off the diff housing, rear diffs are garbage. I'll be attempting this one year on my beretta. its possible, but its going to be alot of extensive work. and if you dont know what your getting into with the project, you'll finish it and just continusly be blowing up the PTO and rear diff. the drive train setup works nothing like per-say a subaru AWD or a truck. its in its own BS design of its own.

How is it different? Is it more like a 4wd? Or ....?

There is a PTU bolted directly to the transmission. The PTU contains a ring and pinion to send power to the rear. The rear axle contains a gerotor pump to apply torque to the rear axles when the front wheels slip.

OK. I just wish there was a way that I could Get rwd but keep my engine transverse. And stick if possible. But its not unless I get a Custom rwd mtx made. But that's a lot of $.

there is but its not practical. you would be chasing the gears and clutch packs down the highway.... its a t125 from a 1990 AWD pontiac 6000. that and you wont ever find one. i've been looking for 5 or so years and gave up.

Why would I be chasing parts down the road?

Because it can't handle more that 140hsp, it would just blow up. That and there is no aftermarket parts for them. To beef up or replace, aside just the things it has incommon with a regular t125.
