transmission options for 3.1

I have a 91 z-24 w/3.1 and automatic, i plan on stripping the engine/electronics to do a swap into an early international truck, i need to know what options are available for rwd/4x4 transmissions that will fit this engine. so far my research has pointed me towards isuzu based options. i would also like to know if my ecm will work with a manual trans, or if i am stuck with auto(or finding a manual trans ecu)? Oh yeah, if anyone needs any parts off of this car please contact me ; )

OK, that is kinda the obvious, i guess i was just looking for some other options, and more info on the electronics(ecm issues with different trans, or manual trans). I have done quite a bit of research, and found a lot of trans options, but now i need to learn more about trans/ecm compatability so i can start weighing my options. i have already found both a th200m and 5spd out of 2.8 s-10 2wds, but they are both 4hrs away from me.long drive if they wont work for me. I am also looking for a shorter length trans as the scout i am working on has a fairly short wheelbase. Overall i will take any help i can get!

You should be able to use code for either a manual or auto (depending on which you go with) since Z24s could be had with either. Also a 91 Z24 auto wouldn't have used an electronic controlled transmission, so you should be fine there as well.

what if i used a 4l30e out of a newer isuzu? some say they are a weak trans, will it stand up to a 3.1? would the 4l30e need electronics that the 3.1 doesnt have? what is the most compact(overall length) auto trans that will work with the 3.1?
Oh, and thanks for the info, i am kinda just gettin into these 60 degree motors : )
